Daniel Joseph Mooney

Daniel Joseph Mooney, 75, passed away peacefully on Saturday, August 5, 2023, at Lake Wawasee, Syracuse, Indiana. Dan spent most of his summers at the lake, where he had many of his most cherished memories. He was born in Marion, Indiana, on May 6, 1948 to parents Katherine Kinnear and James Patrick Mooney. He was a graduate of Bennett High School and the University of Arizona.

In 1983, Dan moved to Dallas, Texas, started his career selling highway equipment, and eventually became a partner with Utility Trailer of Dallas, where he worked for over 30 years. He married the love of his life, Yvonne, on August 2, 2007.

Dan is survived by his wife, Yvonne, his loving stepchildren Brittany Douglas, Landon Morrow, and Taylor Morrow who he dearly loved as his own, and his most precious granddaughter, Hadley, who deeply loved her “Pops”. He is also survived by his siblings, Mary Kay Corbett, Jim (Kathleen) Mooney Jr, Annie Mooney, sister-in-law, Mary Ellen Mooney, his loving nieces and nephews, Susie, David, Patrick, Jon, Timaliegh, Ryan, and Colin, as well as several great-nieces, great-nephews, and many cousins. He was preceded in death by his parents; brother, Steve Mooney; and brother-in-law, Mike Corbett. Our world will never be the same without him, as a definite void has been left in all of our hearts.
