Darlene (Swank) Kaye, 80, of Fort Wayne passed away on Thursday, July 20, 2023. She was born in Fort Wayne on March 3, 1943; she was a daughter of the late Howard and Dorothy (Ginzel) Swank. Darlene proudly became an RN in her 40’s and loved her decades of work as a Visiting Nurse. She was an avid player of board games and cards and was dedicated to her grandchildren, who adored her. She was blessed to maintain a group of friends from elementary school for 75 years. Her favorite color was green. Darlene is survived by her daughter, Christy Thrasher; granddaughters, Divina Thrasher and Heather Hendrickson; grandson, Eli Straw-Thrasher; great-grandson, Quinn Bockheim; and nephew, Micheal Leon. She was also preceded in passing by her daughter, Cathy Hendrickson; and both siblings, Marilyn O’Hara and Dale Russel Swank. A memorial service will be held at 1:00pm on Saturday, August 12, 2023 at Lutheran Life Villages 6701 S. Anthony Boulevard Fort Wayne, Indiana 46816.
