

DAVID P. STEPHANS, 88, a life-long resident of Fort Wayne, passed away Friday, April 7, 2017 at St. Anne Home and Retirement Communities, Fort Wayne. Born on March 17, 1929, he was the son of Anastas (Stephanoff) Stephans and Cleo (Smith) Stephans. Dave always worked in sales, having owned Orn and Co. Food Brokerage, and an engraving business which engraved the Laetare Medal for the University of Notre Dame. Before retirement, he worked for Burkhart Advertising. He loved the game of golf and played five times per week. He adored his family and was always involved with his grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Dave is survived by his daughter, Marcia (Michael) Flood; grandchildren, Angela Flood of Alexandria, Va., Laura (Dr. Scott) Palmer, and Molly (Michael) Schreck, both of Fort Wayne, Taylor Keyes of Studio City, Calif., and Fletcher Keyes of Park City, Utah; and great-grandchildren, Abby, Ben, Rachel, and Grant Schreck, and Katie and Jack Palmer, all of Fort Wayne. He was preceded in death by his loving wife of 67 years, Jane Stephans, and daughter Jo Ellen "Jody" Stephans Keyes; his sisters, Lena and Ruth; brothers, Robert, George, and Boris. His brother, Thomas, of Indianapolis survives, along with many dear nieces and nephews. Mass of Christian burial is 10 a.m. Wednesday, April 12, 2017, at the Cathedral of the Immaculate Conception, 1122 S. Clinton St., Fort Wayne. Msgr. Robert C. Shulte as celebrant. Calling one hour prior to the service. Visitation is 4 to 7 p.m. Tuesday at D.O. McComb & Sons Lakeside Park Funeral Home, 1140 Lake Avenue.
