Denise McInerney

Denise worked for Champions After School Program and La Petite, both in Texas, until she joined La Petite in Fort Wayne, in 2017 until she retired in 2022. She was known as Miss Dee to the staff, children and families she had the pleasure of working with. Denise then stayed home and watched after her grandson, R.J. until she passed away.

Denise participated in Children's Ministries at Alta Vista Baptist Church in Pasadena, Texas for several years.

In her spare time, Denise was a Notre Dame fan, a Houston Texans fan, and also followed the Blackhawks.

She is survived by her husband of 20 years, Kevin D. McInerney; children, Lauren (Paul) Taylor, Maureen McInerney, Kevin J. (Kristine) McInerney, Aaron (Jeanelle) McInerney, Sarah Clapp, Denae (Rodger) McKim; grandchildren, Leah Summerfield, Colt Hebner, R.J. McKim and D'Artagnan Clapp. She also leave behind numerous cousins and other relatives and friends to cherish her memory.

She was preceded in death by daughter, Kimberly McInerney; sister Renee Wells; and parents, Doyle and Elsie Wells.

Services will be held at the University of Notre Dame, Cedar Grove Cemetery, Mass will be at 11 am at the chapel on the grounds of the cemetery on Thursday, July 10, 2025, followed by a procession to the columbarium on the grounds.
