I work for a company that provides services to Don R. Fruchey, and Don has been one of my primary contacts for several years. He was the consummate professional and a strong family man. He always expressed interest in my six children, especially the girl we adopted from Kazakhstan when she was 14. He always kept me updated on his grandchildren too. It was an honor to know him.

Dear Lana,
I just heard that your dear husband died last week.  In the midst of you serving so many people with illness and hurts, this is the time others will be caring for you and serving your needs for a short while.  Carol joins me in praying that your heart experiences the promised peace that passes all human understanding.

My deepest sympathy to you, Lana, and the entire family.  Many people are lifting you up in prayer.

Some of my fondest memmories of being a kid on Old Orchard Rd. include the Hilles.  Even as a kid I knew Mr. Hille was special and lived his life with his love of God first.  I can still hear his laugh to this day.  I vividly remember him learning to play the piano as an adult and how excited he was to share his new hobby when my family went over there for dinner.  To this day that memmory reminds me that one is never too old to follow a dream.  He will always hold a special place in my heart and that of my family's. My sympathy and prayers to all of you.

Just heard from Tucker about Don. I truly enjoyed Don's work as a navigator on our crew, even when he was "lost."  I can still hear him say, "I don't know exactly where we are, pilot, but we're makin' good time." Donna and I have good memories of Don's and your lives with us in some difficult times. He is no longer lost - and this time his navigation is spot on.

Dear Lana, Scott, Jen, Mark, Larry, and all other Family Members and Friends,

Ruth and I became aware of Don's call from Jesus requesting him to come "home."

We also realize that Don has had several health issues which he and you have dealt with over the past number of years and, now, he has perfect health of body, soul, mind, and spirit which brings comfort and peace to all of you.  PTL!!!

Even though Don now has his reward, heaven, you will greatly miss his love and presence within your aching hearts.  Therefore, we encourage you to shed tears unabashedly due to his absence and those tears can bring some relief at such a time as this.  Remember, Jesus also wept with Mary and Martha upon the death of their brother and His dear friend, Lazarus. 
 
Of course, as Christians, you know that there awaits a blessed reunion with Don around the banquet table with Jesus and those beloved family members and friends who have preceded you in their heavenward journey, namely, his parents, Lawrence and Esther,  as well as the many other family members and friends.

Don was a dear friend of ours and many, many others and would always meet you with a smile and a serving heart; who served his Lord at Emmanuel and at the various churches and communities he lived throughout his life.  And, now, he continues with a serving heart in heaven as he awaits your arrival which is a certainty for you because of Jesus.

I was stunned to read of Don's death.  I had no idea he was ill.  My sincere sympathy to you and your family at this difficult time. Karen and I will keep you in our thoughts, as we pray God's comfort and peace to you.

Dear Lana and family,
We are so sorry to hear the news of Don' death.  We know it's been a difficult journey over the last month, and that peace is finally yours...but still not easy to let go. However, we know from our many times together that you and Don had an abundance of faith and trust in God and believe and share in His good graces.
 We will be with you in thoughts and prayers from a distance.  We are still in No. Carolina taking care of our grandchildren, so sadly we will miss saying goodbye. We can picture a grand send off, just as we recall the many times we spent sharing and laughing during our Air Force Academy and Parent Club days together.  Also, I will continue to smile and think of Don every time I make another batch of salsa. Bless his heart.  We will look forward to seeing you and sharing our good memories when we return Lana.

My thoughts and prayers go out to you at this difficult time.  Don was a great boss and he will be missed.  He was all business until he related stories of his granddaughters and his face would light up with joy.  I pray your happy memories will sustain you.

My thoughts of Don will always be that he loved his family first.  He was never afraid to witness to the his belief that God has a plan for each of us if we accept Him.  He knew where he was going.  He was always considerate of Lana and where she would be happy.  He wanted her surrounded by love.  When our going got tough in our family, he would always say "Honor Thy Father & Thy Mother".
