Doris E. Klage

Doris Stamets Klage, died at Silver Birch Assisted Living on Friday, April 22, 2022 at 99 years of age. She was born July 4, 1922 in Fort Wayne, Indiana, daughter of Wayne and Jessie Koontz Stamets. She was married to Paul Eugene Klage on March 21st, 1942 and blessed with 69 years of Christian marriage. Paul preceded her in death on October 13, 2011. She is survived by three children, Tom (Ellen), William (Linda) and Lisa Wetzel (Patrick). She was blessed with eight grandchildren, Tim (Heather), Matt (Stacy), Ben, Dan (Jessica), Jessica Teipen (Andy), Mike (Jessica), Joe Wetzel (Rachel), and Abby Puls (Christian). She was also blessed with fifteen great grandchildren, Jack, Sam, Luke, Andy, Grace, Charlie, Martha, Will, Isa, Anna, Christopher, Braeden, Elliana, Sidney, and Julian. Doris worked several Civil Service jobs during WWII. She worked for 17 years at First Federal Savings and Loan in Fort Wayne. She loved to travel, play the piano, read, garden, and spend time with her family. She was a member of Holy Cross Lutheran Church. Her faith meant a lot to her and she loved going to church. She will be missed dearly and we thank God for the special memories she has left us. A funeral service will be held at Holy Cross Lutheran Church on Saturday, April 30 at 11am with visitation immediately preceding at 10am. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be sent to Holy Cross Lutheran Church or Worship Anew.
