Dorothy "Joan" Roth, 88, of Fort Wayne passed away on Friday, August 3, 2018. She was born April 13, 1930, in Anderson, Indiana. She was a 1948 graduate of Monument City High School and worked as an LPN at St. Joseph Hospital for over 30 years. She was a member at Calvary United Methodist Church where she was involved with the women's group. She enjoyed spending her time cooking, baking, quilting, and crocheting and was a very loving wife, mother, and grandmother. She will be remembered as a very caring person, serving people long before starting her nursing career.
Surviving family include her husband of 67 years, Jim Roth, whom she married on September 24, 1950; daughter, Muriel (Bob) Muth; son, Brent (Peggy) Roth; grandsons, Joshua (Megan) and Nathan Muth. Aaron (Jen) and Brandon Roth; great grandchildren, Griffin and Collins Muth, and Logan and Lillian Roth. She was preceded in passing by her mother, Pauline (Ricker) Ridenour and father, Keith Lewis; sister, Betty Kahlenbeck; and brothers, Bob and Tom Lewis.
Funeral service will be 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday, August 8, 2018, at Calvary United Methodist Church, 6301 Winchester Road, Fort Wayne, with visitation one hour prior. Visitation will also be 4 to 8 p.m. on Tuesday, August 7, 2018, at Klaehn, Fahl & Melton Funeral Home, 6424 Winchester Road, Fort Wayne. Burial will be at Monument City Memorial Cemetery. Memorials may be made to the church.
