Born June 24, 1943 in Charlotte, Michigan to William and Allie (Thackery) Tellas. He was the youngest of 6 children. He loved to garden, do woodworking projects, and play in euchre tournaments at the legion. He graduated in 1961 from Gulf High School in Newport Richie, Florida. Following high school, he proudly served in the US Army. After honorable discharge from the Army, he worked for General Telephone (GTE) for 32 years until he retired. He then drove school bus for Southwest Allen County Schools in Fort Wayne.
Surviving are his wife of 60 years, Janet (Clark) Tellas; sons, Douglas P. (Beth) of Fort Wayne, Indiana, Ron (Julie) of St. Augustine, Florida, and Ken of Fort Wayne, along with six grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, four sisters and brother.
He attended church at both Seminary Church in Roanoke, Indiana and Emmanuel Community Church in Fort Wayne.
Graveside Service is 12:30 PM on Monday, September 18 at Lindenwood Cemetery , 2324 W Main St, Fort Wayne. Celebration of Life is 2:30 pm Monday, September 18 at The Branch, 7227 Bittersweet Moors, Fort Wayne with calling following service to 6:00 pm. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be directed to Women's Outreach at Seminary Church, 285 Seminary St, Roanoke, IN 46783 or Emmanuel Community Church, 12222 US Hwy 24 W, Fort Wayne, IN 46814.
