

Duwain E. Meyers (affectionately known as Dewey), 96, of Ft, Wayne, Indiana passed away peacefully in the early morning hours on Sunday, April 5, 2026. He was born August 21, 1929, in Ft. Wayne, to Geary and Violet (Fairfield) Meyers.
He was a 1948 graduate of Elmhurst High School, and Sergeant in the National Guard from 1948 to 1955. His first job was working with his uncles (Warren and Russell Fairfield) in their garage in Waynedale later to be know as Ridenour’s. He attended Ft. Wayne Bible College and in December 1952, he married the love of his life, Mary Ann Briner and together they shared 69 years of unwavering love and devotion to one another. He began working at the First House Meat Packing Plant/locker in 1953. Duwain did a complete career change and began working in sales with National Life Insurance. He then moved to the Indianapolis Life Insurance where he earned his CLU designation and multiple million dollar round table designations. He eventually became an independent agent opening his own business in the mid-seventies until his retirement.
He was a devoted follower of Jesus who strived to live out his faith daily seeking opportunities to minister and lead people closer to Jesus. He was a member of Harvester Missionary Church for over 60 years, where he participated in various roles. You could hear him often on the Hour of Power radio ministry. For many years he was a member of the Christian Businessmen’s Ministry and an active participant in the Operation Timothy discipleship ministry and Navigators.
He is survived by his three children, Dean (Jan) Meyers of Muncie; Janeen (Richard) Hoover of Plattsville, Ontario Canada; Gene (Debra) Meyers of Berne; his dearly loved grandsons, Kyle (Deborah) Meyers; Landon (Sara) Meyers; David (Zornitza) Hoover; Todd Hoover; Trent (Clara) Meyers; and Troy (Ally) Meyers; his most precious great-grandchildren, Autumn Meyers; Nathaniel Meyers; Andrew Meyers; Margaret Meyers; Leonardo Hoover; Lakely Meyers; Brody Meyers and his sister and brother-in law, Arlene and Orvil Schlatter.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Mary Ann Meyers; father, Geary Meyers; mother, Violet Meyers; father-in-law, Robert Briner; mother-in-law, Beulah Briner; and granddaughter; Natalie Meyers.
