

Edna "Tina" Antalis, 91, in Fort Wayne, left this life to join her beloved husband on Wednesday, February 24, 2016, at her home. Born in Danville, IL, on September 6, 1924, she attended St. Patrick School, where the nuns called her "the little girl with the big voice", Danville High School, Utterback Business College, and the University of Illinois, where she studied interior design. She met the love of her life, Stanley Antalis, and began her married life in Fort Wayne in 1948. She was active in the Fort Wayne Greek community and the Holy Trinity Greek Orthodox Church, serving as choir director for 40 years. She was an original and lifelong member of the Daughters of Penelope and the Philoptochos Society of the church. She worked as a secretary and as a substitute teacher in the Aboite schools. She was an avid doll collector and founder of the Fort Wayne Doll Club, where she was a member for 35 years. Survivors include daughters, Dr. Caryl Antalis of Indianapolis and Chris Kauffman of Columbia City; sons, John (Pam) Antalis of Lafayette, Greg (Kim) Antalis of Delphos, OH, Philip Antalis of Houston, TX, and Dr. Alex (Jan) Antalis of Fort Wayne; grandchildren, Julia (Ben) Johnston, Zachary (Sarah) Antalis, Dr. Erin (Aaron) Peregrine Antalis, Nate (Casie) Antalis, Stephanie Kauffman, Jim (Brenda) Antalis, Kalli (John) Landua, Katie (Erik) Hanson, Nicole Antalis, Michael (Megan) Antalis, Kristin Griffin, Molly Antalis, Andrew Antalis, Shannon Kauffman, Rachael Antalis, Matthew Antalis, Mitchell Antalis, and Adam Antalis; and 12 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, Stanley Antalis; her brothers, George Gallanis, Anthony Gallanis, and Sam Gallanis, and a sister, Georgia Karavolos. Service is 10 a.m. Saturday, February 27, 2016 at Holy Trinity Greek Orthodox Church, 110 E. Wallen Road, 46825, with calling one hour prior and Entry Prayers at 9:00 am. Calling is also from 2 to 5 and 7 to 9 p.m. Friday, February, 26, 2016 at D.O. McComb & Sons Covington Knolls Funeral Home, 8325 Covington Road, 46804, with Trisagion at 8 p.m. Burial in Greenlawn Memorial Park. Memorials to Holy Trinity Greek Orthodox Church.
