In 1958, Ed married his High School sweetheart, Judith (Uvardy) Ross. Married for 67 years, they raised three children: Kurt (Judy) Ross, Marcia (Kevin) Teeters, and Lisa (Kent) Somers. He was a proud grandfather to five grandchildren, Evan Ross, Justin Ross, Kyle (Maggie) Bobay, Kira Somers, and Kenna Somers, and a great-grandfather to Georgia Bobay. Ed is also survived by his siblings, Michael (Betty) Ross and Melinda Ross, and was preceded in death by his brother, John Ross, and his parents.
Ed graduated from John Adams High School in 1957. He pursued higher education at Purdue University, where he studied Mechanical Engineering, graduating in 1967. He dedicated 23 years to Owens Illinois, where he retired in 1996.
Ed had a life changing experience in 1998 when he met the Lord, and it profoundly changed his life's focus. Ed's legacy is defined by his steadfast relationship with Jesus Christ.
Ed's greatest joy was serving the Lord through RVICS, Roving Volunteers in Christ Service, alongside his wife, Judith. They traveled across the United States, contributing to churches, camps, schools, and ministry housing projects. In 2005, they relocated to Fort Wayne, Indiana, to be closer to family and shifted their focus to local volunteering. He also enjoyed golf, genealogy, and gardening.
The family extends a special thank You to Ed's Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, for the blessings and guidance throughout his life.
