Edward Thurman III, 47, affectionately known by family and friends as " Ed or Eddie, sometimes referred to as Little Eddie", passed away on Monday, December 23, 2024 at Stillwater Hospice home. He was surrounded by a host of loving family members. Edward was born in Fort Wayne, Indiana on May 16, 1977, a son of Edward Thurman II and Bill "Billie" E. Swann.
After graduating from Wayne High School, he attended Ivy Tech University where he pursued a career in welding. He specialized in robotics and various aspects of that field. Edward never married or had children of his own although he touched the hearts of his nephew and niece, coupled with their progenies deeply. Edward was a loving son, brother and uncle, who adored his many aunts, slew of cousins and friends. He was especially fond of his cousin, Christopher Baker, whom he considered a brother. Their bond was unbreakable from childhood to manhood. He enjoyed fishing, bowling, reading, talking on the phone with his favorite aunt and uncle and quality time spent with his sister.
He leaves to cherish his memory, his loving mother Billie (Eli) Swann; sister, Toni L. Sumlin; and many relatives. Edward was preceded in passing by his father, Edward Thurman II. He will always be remembered as a kind, peaceful and loving man, a precious gift and true blessing.
