

Ellen "Sally" Marlene Eschenbacher, 86, of Yoder, Indiana passed away peacefully at Ossian Health & Rehabilitation Center on Tuesday, July 29, 2025. She was born in May 1939 in Huntington, Indiana, and was the daughter of the late Cedric and Velta Pursifull. Marlene was a 1957 graduate of West Rock Creek High School, in Huntington, Indiana and was a simple country girl at heart and took joy in spending time with family, at the lake, and wintering in Florida. Marlene had faith in her Savior, Jesus Christ, and was a member of New Hope Lutheran Church. She loved cooking and baking for her family, especially during birthdays and holidays, and took pride in making her beloved black raspberry jelly. After graduation from Warner College of Beauty Culture in Fort Wayne, Indiana, Marlene worked as a beautician. Marlene also worked at Guardian Photo for over ten years and retired as owner of D & M Concessions. Marlene is survived by her three children, Annette (Mark) Sorich, Todd Eschenbacher, and Rod (Peggy) Eschenbacher; many grandchildren and great grandchildren; sister, Betty Keller; and several nieces and nephews. Marlene was preceded in death by her husband of 59 years, Donald in 2018; infant daughter, Brenda Lee; brothers, Bill, Ted, David, and Gary; brother-in-law, Fred; and infant sister, Wanda. Funeral services will be on Saturday, August 9, 2025, at 12:00 pm at New Hope Lutheran Church, 8824 North State Road 1, Ossian, Indiana 46777 with visitation two hours prior to the funeral at church. Reverend Raymond T. Doubrava II will be officiating services. Burial will be at Emmanuel Cemetery, Wells County, Indiana.
