Evelyn M. Branning Gerrard

EVELYN M. GERRARD, 87, of Fort Wayne, died on Saturday, Jan. 7, 2012, 11:42 p.m., at Kingston At Dupont. Born Oct. 6, 1924, in Fort Wayne, she was a daughter of the late Theodore H. Bran-ning and Wilda Dinius Branning. Evelyn and her husband, Leroy co-owned Evelyn's Flowerland and worked the business together, retiring after 25 years of service in 1996. Surviving are her daughters, Gaylene Scott, Karlene Thorn and Jolene McDonald, all of Fort Wayne; grandchildren, Ryan and Kurt Scott, Adam and Shannen Thorn, and Kristy McDonald; and great-grandchild, Madeline Tate. She was preceded in death by her husband of 60 years, LeRoy F. Gerrard, in 2007; and sister, Goldie Thompson. Funeral service is 1 p.m. Thursday, Jan. 12, 2012, at Klaehn, Fahl & Melton Funeral Home, Winchester Road Chapel, 6424 Winchester Road, with calling one hour prior. Pastor Rick Hawks officiating.
