Evelyn Joan Siegel

Evelyn J. Siegel - since Mom loved to travel, her last trip was to enter Heaven. Evelyn was born in Hammond, Indiana to Lawrence and Ruby Little. She was the youngest of five children and their only daughter. She married Fredrick Siegel on September 22, 1956. They went on to have a total of six children. Later in life, Mom returned to college to receive her Bachelor's Degree in Elementary Education. She loved to paint, travel the world, and put puzzles together - even if there was a piece or two missing.

Evelyn was preceded in death by her parents, Lawrence and Ruby Little; her husband, Frederick Siegel, Sr.; one son, Frederick Siegel, Jr.; and her four brothers - Norman, Eugene, Charles, and Lawrence Little. Mom leaves behind her remaining sons and one daughter; Lawrence (Sharon) Siegel, Roberta (Matt) Buckley, Kenneth (Kim) Siegel, Christopher Siegel, and Richard (Kay) Siegel. She also leaves behind her grandchildren - Jason L. (Breanna), Jason T., Matthew (Kelli), Nicole (Alex), Bradley (Brittany), Natalie (Tyler), Alexa (James), Madison and Spencer as well as ten great-grandchildren and numerous nephews and nieces.

In her later years, Mom dealt with cancer and then dementia. Even those things couldn’t keep her from smiling hugely when you went to visit her. She was so happy and joyful for those visits. She may not have remembered your name or who you were, but she would laugh and talk with you about her early life and the joys of those early years.

Mom, your next adventure is just beginning. Enjoy your time with the Lord and we will join you in just a blink of the eye!

Funeral Service will take place at 2:00 pm on Friday, March 21, 2025, at D.O. McComb and Sons Funeral Homes - Pine Valley Park, 1320 East Dupont Road, Fort Wayne, IN 46805, with visitation two hours prior. Burial at St. Vincent de Paul Catholic Church Cemetery, Fort Wayne, IN 46825.
