EVERETT E. KIESTER, 98, died Tuesday, March 11, 2025. Born in Barnsdall, Oklahoma, he retired as a Dairy Farm Inspector at the Indiana State Board on Health, in 1992, after 12 years. Prior to that he served as Health Inspector for the Fort Wayne Police Department and Allen County Board of Public Health.
He was a WWII Veteran, enlisting in the Navy at age 17 where he served as a radio man on the AR-19 Xanthus repair ship. Everett was never idle as he enjoyed fishing, woodworking, carving, cooking candies, and generally helping others anytime he could.
Survivors include his wife, Becky Kiester of North Manchester; son, Michael E. (Linda) Kiester; daughters, Marcia R. (Chip) Olson and Susan D. Huck all of Roanoke; a stepson, Christopher (Amy) Gerding, Roanoke; two stepdaughters, Mrs. William (Renee) Karthol, Fort Wayne, and Cynthia Gerding, Warsaw; sixteen grandchildren and twenty-two great grandchildren. He was proceeded in death by his first wife, Nila I. Kiester.
Funeral Service is 3:00 pm Sunday, March 16, 2025, at D.O. McComb & Sons Covington Knolls Funeral Home, 8325 Covington Road, with calling two hours prior. Private burial in Covington Memorial Gardens, Fort Wayne, IN 46804.
