Gene Carroll Laker, 83, died on Friday July 3, 2015 at Sage Bluff Health and Rehabilitation Center. He was born in Danville, Illinois on March 10, 1932 to the late George and Edna Loercher. He graduated from Depauw University and from Northwestern University Medical School. He also served in the United States Air Force as a captain in the medical corp.
Dr. Gene Laker and his brother Dr. Richard Laker practiced family medicine from an office in Waynedale, Indiana for forty years.
Surviving are his wife of 53 years, Marcia Jones Laker and his three children Jaison and Craig Laker and Carey (David) Bryson. A fourth child, Gene C. Laker Jr. died shortly after birth. Gene was the proud grandfather to Adrian and William Morken and Elizabeth, Alexandria and Emma Laker. His brother Richard and his wife Toni also survive him.
There will be no formal services. A family memorial will be held in the near future.
