George L. Aldridge, 77, passed away on Monday, December 21, 2020. George was born July 24, 1943 in Bedford, Kentucky. He was a son of the late Fallis and Elsie (Harmon) Aldridge. George served in the United States Army for 6 years and was a member of American Legion Post 241. He worked at General Electric for 38 years, retiring in 1998. While at General Electric he served as a volunteer firefighter. George enjoyed going to swap meets in Florida, restoring cars, fishing, and playing cards with friends at the lake home. Most of all he enjoyed the time spent with family and friends. George is survived by his son, George L. (Linda) Aldridge Jr.; daughters, Loretta G. Brace and Shelia Jo (Daniel) Stoner; seven grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; and sisters, Neva Aldridge and Lisa Aldridge- Drew. Also preceding him in passing was his wife Brenda Sue (Monroe) Aldridge; and brothers, Jim Aldridge and Fallis Aldridge Jr. A funeral service will be held at 12:00pm on Wednesday, December 23, 2020 at Klaehn, Fahl, & Melton Funeral Home 6424 Winchester Road, Fort Wayne, Indiana 46819, visitation will be 30 minutes prior. Burial at Prairie Grove Cemetery to follow the service. Memorial contributions may be made to Cancer Services of Northeastern Indiana.
