I was so sorry to hear of the passing of Glenn Brendel.My deepest sympathy goes out to the Glenn Brendel Family. I worked with Glenn at the Air Guard for many years. I always had the deepest respect for Glenn, and was always impressed by his work ethic.  He was an invaluable asset to the 122 Ftr Wg as well as the total Air National Guard of the United States.

Please accept my sincerest condolences on the passing of Glenn.  I met Glenn through the Railroad Passenger Car Alliance, where he was a member of our board.  He was always willing to share his knowledge of rail operations and maintenance with new members and old friends alike.  He was a fountain of knowledge and a good friend to all who labor to preserve and operate vintage railroad equipment.  In recent years I did not see a lot of Glenn because he was so active in getting 765 back on the mainline, but when I did, it was always easy to pick up where we left off,.  I enjoyed every contact and conversation with him immensely. Glenn enriched us all and will be missed so very much.

Mrs. Brendel, My mother just called me this morning and told me about Glenn's death. I am so sorry to hear about his passing. I worked for Glenn many years ago at the IN Air Nat'l Guard. I was a young Airman and he was always a fair and caring supervisor. He would always make me laugh and I listened to many stories about his trains. I left the Guard 32 years ago but never forgot Glenn. I live in FL now and am working in South Korea with the Air Force so I did not hear about him until this morning. My condolences and deepest sympathy for your loss. I know Glenn will be missed by many people.

I had known Glenn since 1985. We put a National Convention together in Huntington Wv in 1991 and used the FWRHS #765 on many New River Train trips. We had become good friends. He will surely be missed

I was so sad to learn of Glenn's passing. I'd known him since 1976 which is when I moved to Ft Wayne and joined the 122 TFW....He kept me posted on your progress at Purdue and beyond. He got me involved in The 765 also...I'll miss him.

Todd, there aren't too many people in this world that had as large an impact on my life as Glenn.  Working for him in the Audio Visual section of the Air Guard was both a pleasure and an education.  He was a wonderful friend and mentor for all of us that worked for him over the years.  He will be missed.

Glen was one of the first NCOs I met when I returned from pilot training for the Guard.  Bigger than life and quick with a smile or joke - he was one of the really good guys!  He will be missed.

Todd, I didn't really know your dad very well but the evidence of his character is very evident in you.
