Gloria Mata

Gloria Mata, 68, passed away Thursday November 18, 2021 at Ascension St. Vincent Hospital in Indianapolis, IN. She was born October 13, 1953 in Decatur, IN., the daughter of the late Salvador and Leonor Romero. Gloria graduated from Belmont High School in Decatur IN. She worked at GE, FWCS, and Caring About People for several years in Fort Wayne, IN. Gloria was a member of Broadway Christian Church and was also a devoted volunteer. She was an avid reader, enjoyed bingo and card playing, had a love of butterflies and Betty Boop, and her favorite color was purple. You could easily win her heart with a hot dog and a Pepsi. She was a caretaker of many and was truly a social butterfly. She is survived by her loving daughter, Bianca (Michael) Cummins of Noblesville, IN; sisters Magdalena (Jesus) Botello of Crystal City, TX; Lily (Enrique) Martinez of Fort Wayne, IN and her grandson Samuel Cummins. She was preceded in death by her parents and a son, Aaron Equia. Funeral Service will be 3pm Saturday November 27, 2021 at D.O. McComb and Sons Lakeside Park Funeral Home 1140 Lake Ave. Fort Wayne, IN., with visitation from 1-3pm at the funeral home.
