Gloria L. Safford

Gloria L. Safford, 88, of Fort Wayne, passed away on Friday, January 22, 2021. She was born on June 2, 1932 in Fort Wayne. Gloria was a daughter of the late Louis Schwink and Beulah (Johnson) Jahn. She was a devoted member of Waynedale Baptist Church for many years. Gloria spent many hours volunteering with her Delta Rho Chapter of Sigma Beta. She enjoyed listening to music. Gloria is survived by her daughters, Kristi (Kirk) Mayer, Sandra (Jeffrey) Crider, Janey Byram, Karna Espich, and Karen Eckler; son, William Safford; eleven grandchildren; six great- grandchildren; and sister, Donna Jahn. Also preceding her in passing was her husband, Charles Safford; and brothers, Roger Hoffman and Orlen Schwink. A funeral service will be held at 2pm on Thursday, January 28, 2021 at Elzey-Patterson-Rodak Home for Funerals 6810 Old Trail Road Fort Wayne, Indiana 46809 with visitation one hour prior. Visitation will also be held from 5-8pm on Wednesday, January 27, 2021 at the Funeral Home. Memorial contributions can be made to the Waynedale Baptist Church.
