Grace B. Trice

Grace B. Trice was born to Will and Romma Lee Mills in Anniston, Alabama on March 19, 1933. She was the fourth oldest of eleven children. Grace met Charles M. Trice in Mineral Wells, Tx. They were married in 1956 and eventually settled in Fort Wayne, Indiana. They had two children Rachel and Charles. Grace departed this life on August 6, 2020 at the age of 87.

Grace worked a number of years at Parkview Hospital, she also worked for Patton Electric and eventually retired from General Electric in Fort Wayne, Indiana.

Grace was baptized and accepted Christ at an early age, and was a member of Pilgrim Baptist Church led by Rev. Sam Shade. Grace was an avid member of the Floral Club and Choir for many years.

Grace enjoyed fishing, visiting friends, and gardening where she was known to have a green thumb with roses. Grace served the community through the St. Mary’s Lodge #14 as a member of the Eastern Stars and Daughters of Isis collectively for 45 years.

Grace was preceded in death by her husband of 46 years, daughter Rachel, grandson Charles Detrick, and siblings Ludie, Mary, Lula-Mae, Robert, Nellie-Mae, Willie-Mae, Lawrence and Rose. Grace leaves to cherish her memory; son Charles Q. Trice (Julie), grandsons Alfred, Nathaniel, Tyler, Damarius, JaQuan and great-granddaughter Navaeh, siblings Clistrene, James and cousins Bernice & Jarrod.
