I also was a librarian at Hamilton East Public Library, and fondly remember Gregg as one of our regular visitors. It was clear that the library was very important to Gregg, and we all appreciated his support. The stories of his travels made some of us envious, and he thoughtfully brought in travel information for those of us who were planning trips!  I am  glad he achieved so many of the goals he set for himself, and that he received recognition for them. 

Gregg was an interesting person.  He inspired me with his various passions, inquisitive nature, and the way he set and accomplished daily goals.  He truly loved the Hamilton East Public Library, and we are honored to have been a major part of his life.  Over the years, we felt as if we had become Gregg's library family.    Gregg was so familiar with the library that he often helped out other patrons.  
Gregg will certainly be missed.  I will even miss the way he teased me about rooting for sports teams that weren't "his" teams.  Gregg certainly had fans at the library and at the places in the community that he frequented.  I believe that Mr. Schmidt has journeyed to paradise to join the angels in the outfield.

I am so very sorry to hear this.  I work at the Hamilton East Public Library and we so enjoyed his visits and learning about his trips.  I can't believe that he is gone.  I didn't know about his family so if you are reading this please know how much he will be missed.
