

He was born August 16, 1965 in Fort Wayne and graduated from Fort Wayne Christian School, Class of '84.
Gregory excelled in athletics playing varsity basketball and soccer in high school and the collegiate level for Grace College and in later years cycling, golf, water sports, time at the Range, as well as cheering on his beloved IU Basketball team and playing in the Clear Lake Yacht Club Dart League with longtime friend, Denny.
Gregory's enthusiasm for speed, sport and muscle cars began early on while restoring a '69 Firebird with Ron and Denny from ground up; and, prior to entering the ministry, Gregory spent fourteen years as Automotive Manager for the O'Daniel Porsche Audi Automotive Group.
Gifted by His creator, a love for music and worship blossomed while at Grace performing with the Grace College singers; and would continue throughout his life, singing with the Bound 4 Glory Quartet. Gregory used his gifting as a worship leader vocalist, directing Audio-Video Teams, and performing in numerous musical and theater productions at First Assembly of God.
His greatest passion was the transformative power of the Gospel, living a life of sacrifice, service and willingness to be poured out to advance the Kingdom. Gregory received his licensure from Southwestern Assemblies of God University and served in various capacities over his thirty-seven years at First Assembly; ten years as adult Sunday School teacher, Pastoral Prayer Team, Cell Group Leader, Usher, Deacon, Elder and six years on the Church Board. The ministry extended beyond the walls of First Assembly locally, nationally and globally serving with Dare to Dream Youth Ranch Board of Directors, Misfits street ministry, Time to Revive, reviveINDIANA, revive Fort Wayne and Business Administrator for My Father's House Fort Wayne. Since its inception in 2013, Gregory has faithfully served with Voice of Judah Israel as Chief Operating Officer sharing his heart for the Jewish People and their return to the Homeland. Gregory was honored to work in the ministry of sharing the Gospel alongside many pastors around the globe.
Left to cherish his memory are his loving and devoted wife, Maylynne; children, Marissa (Colton) Charland, Evvin (Megan) Ranney, Jesse Ranney and Garett Ranney; grandchildren, Jude Charland, Sonny Charland, and Millie Ranney; siblings, Kimberly (Barry) VanCamp, Stephanie (Doug) Roth; mother, Cindy (Clifford) Beck; and father's wife, Louise Ranney; and several cousins, nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his father, Ronald Ranney.
Celebration of Life is 2:30 PM, Saturday, February 22, 2025 at First Assembly of God, 1400 W Washington Center Road, Fort Wayne.
