Hazel Elizabeth Crandal, 96, passed away on Saturday, June 11, 2022, at Lutheran Life Villages South Anthony, in Fort Wayne, Indiana. She was born September 17, 1925 in Allen County, Indiana, the daughter of the late Albert and Syliva Hollopeter.
Hazel graduated from Arcola High School. She married James Henry Crandal on September 17, 1943, and together they raised four children. She enjoyed playing bingo, traveling, and square dancing. Hazel is survived by her children, Sylvia (Robert) Jones, James A. (Eileen) Crandal, Ricky L. (Kathy) Crandal, all of Fort Wayne; 7 grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren; and 10 great-great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband of 74 years, James Henry Crandal; daughter Rebecca Worman, 5 brothers; 3 sisters; and 2 great-grandchildren.
A funeral service to honor Hazel's life will be held at 10:00 am on Friday, June 17, 2022, at D.O. McComb and Sons Lakeside Park Funeral Home, 1140 Lake Avenue, Fort Wayne, with visitation one hour prior. Visitation will also take place from 2:00 to 4:00 pm and 6:00 to 8:00 pm on Thursday, June 16, 2022, at the funeral Home. She will be laid to rest at Eel River Cemetery, Churubusco, Indiana.
