He is survived by children, Melissa Shanyfelt, Herbert Ray (Heidi) Shanyfelt II, all of Fort Wayne, IN; son James David Shanyfelt of Lansing, MI; and three grandchildren. Herbert was preceded in death by his wife, Susan Kay Shanyfelt.
