Iona Melchi, 92, passed away Saturday, November 11, 2017 in Fort Wayne. Born in Berne, IN, Iona worked as a nurse with St. Joseph Hospital for 17 years. She was a member of Good Shepherd United Methodist Church. Surviving are her 4 sons, Ned (Vicki) Melchi of Fishers, IN, Rex (Lisa) Melchi of Fort Wayne, Jay (Kerry) Melchi of Fort Wayne, and Max (Beth) Melchi of Fishers, IN; 11 grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; and her sister, Sarabelle Zeigler of Berne, IN. Iona was preceded in death by her husband, Eugene Melchi; parents, Harvey and Rosa Beer; 1 brother and 2 sisters. Service is 10:30 am, Friday, November 17, 2017 at D. O. McComb & Sons Maplewood Park Funeral Home, 4017 Maplecrest Rd with calling one hour prior. Calling also Thursday, November 16, 2017 from 5:00 pm to 8:00 pm at the funeral home.
