Irene E. Schaefer, 91, of Fort Wayne, died on Wednesday, Feb. 20, 2013. Born in Switzerland she emigrated to the US in 1954, and lived in Southern California, New York & Chicago. Enjoyed a full and exciting life characterized by an incredible “joie de vivre”. Surviving are her son, Edmond (Christine-Ahr) Schaefer; her daughter Arlette (Pino) Cozzi; granddaughters, Ria Arlette (Cory) Langer, Patricia (Jim) Senft; grandsons, living in Italy, Virio, Karim, Remo and Dario; great granddaughters, Kyra and Alyssa Langer; and five great grandchildren, in Italy. She was preceded in death by her husband Charles in 1991. In lieu of flowers donations may be given to Parkview Home Health and Hospice.
