

Jack “Wally” Walter Koenig, fell asleep in death Monday, April 22, 2013 at Heritage Park Nursing Home. He was 86 on his birthday, April 10, 1927. He was formerly a long time resident of Hesperia, California. He was known in Hesperia as “the Garbage Man”, as he owned and operated Hesperia Disposal for many years. To every kid he was “The Candy Man”. He was preceded in death by his Darling wife, Marion, who together made the business the success it was. In 1970 he retired early to work his ministry. He is survived by his 5 children, Steven R. Koenig and his wife Janet, Robin L. Collier and husband Jeff, Mark A. Koenig and wife Debbie, Michael J. Koenig and wife Georgeanna, Wendy L. Ponce of Victorville, and Edwin F. Dvorak of Hesperia; his brother Robert G. Koenig of Bellevue, Washington; sixteen grandchildren; twenty three great grandchildren with two on the way. He was a member of the congregation of Jehovah’s Witnesses since 1958 and currently attended Maplecrest Congregation. Memorial services will be held at the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah’s Witnesses, Maplecrest Congregation, 11181 St. Road 37 East, New Haven, Indiana (1 mile east of I-469), Saturday, May 11, 2013 at 2:00 p.m. with visitation starting at 1:00 p.m. Arrangements by Elzey Patterson Rodak Home For Funerals.
