Son of Charles Overmeyer and Helen (Fisher) Overmyer and step-mother Myrtle (Parrish) Overmeyer, Jack was raised in Waterloo, IN.
Jack was a dedicated Kindergarten teacher for East Allen County Schools, who gave hundreds of students a wonderful start to their education at Monroeville Elementary. He served in the US Army, was an avid gardener, and a dedicated husband and father.
He is survived by his wife of 58 years Mary (Smith) Overmeyer; children Kurt (Michelle) Overmeyer of Seaside, CA; Cary (Nicole) Overmeyer of Westfield, IN; Erin (Kate Folkert) Overmeyer of Grand Rapids, MI, and grandchildren Will, Austin, and Charlie.
He was preceded in death by daughter Julie Lynn Overmeyer.
A memorial service will be held at a later date.
