Jacquelyn Rogers Michna, age 89, of Fort Wayne, IN passed away at Kingston Care Center on Thursday, July 5, 2018. On January 25, 1929, Jacquelyn Rogers was born in Childress County, Texas, the cherished only child of Jack and Edith Rogers. They relocated to Refugio during the Great Depression. Jackie graduated from Refugio High School in 1946 where she proudly served as editor of the first RHS annual and worked on the committee that developed their alma mater. Following high school she attended one year of business school in Houston before returning to Refugio. She was a wife and homemaker, and regularly attended Our Lady of Refuge Catholic Church. After living in Texas the majority of her life, in 2008 she relocated to Fort Wayne, IN to live closer to her adult children. Left to cherish Jackie's memory are 2 daughters; Melanie (David L.) Thompson of Fort Wayne, IN, and Melinda Walker of Cleveland, OH; and one son, Mark R. (Debbie) Michna of Akron, Ohio; 9 grandchildren, and 16 great-grandchildren. Preceding Jackie in death are her parents, Jack Brooks and Edith Estelle (Hamman) Rogers. Following cremation, interment will be at a later date at Little Elm Cemetery in Little Elm, Texas, next to her parents. A celebration of life will be held at 2pm on Saturday, July 21, 2018 at D.O. McComb and Sons Pine Valley, 1320 E. Dupont Rd., Fort Wayne, IN 46825, with calling 1 hour prior. Memorial contributions may be made to AMDF - American Macular Degeneration Foundation, P.O.
