James "Jim" Parks, 82, passed away on Tuesday, August 19, 2025 at his home. He was the middle son of the late Harry and Evelyn (Burger) Parks. Jim was born in Union City, Indiana on January 27, 1943. He grew up Salamonia, Indiana. Jim graduated from Madison Township High School, where he participated in track, baseball and basketball, scoring 35 points in a single game. His height varied from 6'6 to 6'8, depending on how many points he scored in a prior game. Jim worked 30 years at Magnavox in Fort Wayne as a Machinist. He loved hunting, fishing, and cars. Jim married Sharon "Sherry" Bransteter on May 3, 1969. This union produced a son, Shannon (Kristin) Parks and a daughter, Kimbra (Jamie) Druley, D.D.S. He is also survived by his five grandchildren, Quinlan, Kalina, and Niko Druley, and Oliver and Henry Parks. A celebration of life for Jim will be held from 2:00 pm to 6:00 pm on Tuesday, October 7, 2025 at Elzey-Patterson-Rodak Home for Funerals, 6810 Old Trail Road, Fort Wayne, Indiana 46809.
