James E. Wonderly, 75 passed away on Wednesday, February 8, 2023. Born in Columbus, Ohio on July 26, 1947, a son of the late Forrest and Jeannette (Williams) Wonderly. James served in the United States Army for 10 years. Not only did he have a passion for his country he also enjoyed golfing, bowling, dancing, and going out to eat. We can't forget that he was a bear's fan. James is survived by his wife of 50 years, Ursula "Uschi" Wonderly; son, James (Lynn) Wonderly; daughters, April (Mike) Wilkinson and Dawn (Jerry) Harding; grandchildren, Kaili, Adrianna, Victoria, Isaac, Josh, Jordan, Cody, Kate, Marcus, Courtney, Dylan, and Marie; great-grandchildren, Lilly, Jaylen, Cameron, Kai, Clayton, Gage, and Mathias; and numerous, cousins, nieces, nephews and great nieces and nephews. He was also preceded in passing by his sister, Altwaine (Jim) Arthur; and brothers, Forrest and Richard Wonderly. A funeral service will be held at 11:00am on Tuesday, February 21, 2023 at Elzey-Patterson-Rodak Home for Funerals 6810 Old Trail Road, Fort Wayne, Indiana 46809 with visitation beginning at 10:00am. Military portion of the service beginning at 10:50am. Burial to follow the service at Marion National Cemetery. Contributions in James memory may be made to Cancer Society of Northeast Indiana or Promedica Hospice.
