Jan inspired countless young minds in her forty years as a teacher in the Fort Wayne Community Schools system, with thirty-five spent at Lincoln Elementary. Her passion for learning was evident in her personal life with the varied hobbies and interests she pursued including scrapbooking, sewing, cooking, Panera Tea (two pink sweeteners, please), Diet Coke, playing card games (especially Euchre), and traveling but cherished the time spent with her family and dogs the most. She was a strong, independent woman, although outspoken at times, and fiercely loyal to her family and friends and will be greatly missed.
Jan is survived by her loving daughters, Emma Wolford and Sophia Wolford, both of Fort Wayne; sisters, Dawn (Geoff) Waldau of Davidson, NC and Victoria (Doug) Wolford-Osborne of Noblesville, IN.
Funeral Service is 10:30 am Thursday, November 7, 2024 at D.O. McComb & Sons Funeral Homes - Pine Valley, 1320 E. Dupont Road, Fort Wayne with calling one hour prior. Friends and family will also be received from 4 - 7 pm on Wednesday, November 6, 2024 at the funeral home. Interment at Covington Memorial Gardens.
