

JASON RICHARD "J.R." KRUEGER, 44, of Fort Wayne, formerly of Michigan, died on Friday, Aug. 3, 2012, at his home. Born Nov. 29, 1967, in St. Joseph, Mich., he was the son of Dennis and Judi Krueger. He worked for Denmark Management Company for 22 years. He was also an accomplished athlete and grew up in St. Joseph, Mich. He graduated from St. Joseph High School in 1986; and attended Kalamazoo Valley Community College, where he played basketball and held the three point shooting record for many years; he later attended Ohio University, in Athens, Ohio; graduated with a bachelor's degree in communications. He was a member of the Sigma Alpha Epsilon fraternity, where he was an active member in intramural sports and a fraternity pledge trainer. In recent years, he coached basketball for the boys Y.M.C.A. basketball league and was once awarded coach of the year. He will forever be known for his sparkling blue eyes, great personality and incredible ability to cook a fabulous meal. He is survived by his sons, Maxwell, Lucas and Zakary Krueger, all of Fort Wayne; their mother, Felicia Krueger; parents, Dennis and Judi Krueger of Naples, Fla.; paternal grandmother, Margaret Rutledge of Angola; brother, Mark (Laura) Krueger of Grosse Pointe, Mich.; sisters, Kristine (Kelvin) Kershaw of Little Rock, Ark., Heather Kolesar of St. Joseph, Mich. and Ali (John) Shoemaker of Collerville, Tenn.; and several nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, and cousins. Memorial service is 1 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 11, 2012, at Klaehn, Fahl & Melton Funeral Home, Winchester Road Chapel, 6424 Winchester Road, with calling one hour prior to service.
