JOHN OHANNESSIAN, 74, of Fort Wayne, died on Thursday, May 6, 2010, at Parkview Hospital. Born Sept. 23, 1935, in Cambridge, Mass., he was a descendant of the Leonard's, Putman's and Vaughn's that came over to this country on the Mayflower. He worked as a Baker's helper at Walter E. Fernald State School for six years, retiring in 1980. He was also a member of Boy Scouts of America, Sea Scouts and the National Guard. He is survived by a sister, Esther Cheever; nephew, Mike Cheever; nieces, Michelle McKim, Ellen Ilban and Karina Ilban; and nephews, David Cheever, Brandon Eller, Justin Eller and Austin Eller. He was preceded in death by his parents, George and Jennie (Cadman) Ohannessian; brother, Joseph Ohannessian; and sister, Diamond Ohannessian. Service is Tuesday at C.M. Sloan & Sons Funeral Home, 1327 N. Wells Street. Burial in Catholic Cemetery.
