John Brent Webster, 78, passed away January 7, 2026, at Parkview Hospital Randallia, in Fort Wayne, IN. He was born on November 18, 1947, in East St. Louis, Illinois, the son of the late Donald and Mary Olivia Webster.
He graduated from Belleville Twp High School in 1966 and earned his certification from Basic Institute of Technology in Heating and Air Conditioning. John was a maintenance mechanic at Purdue University IPFW and formerly a self-employed property management and worked at American Hoist for 11 yrs.
He proudly served as a Corporal in the United States Marines during Vietnam from June 1966–April 1969. John also served his country in the United States Navy from 1974-1978.
His memberships included, the American Legion Post 47, Disabled American Veterans (DAV) and was a dedicated member of the Vietnam Veteran's Motorcycle Club.
He is survived by his wife of 46 years, Janice Webster of Fort Wayne, IN; sons, Nicholas (Kim) Webster, and Michael (Crystal) Webster, both of Fort Wayne, IN; sister, Susan Holleran of Fort Wayne, IN; grandchildren, Bransyn Carr, Maddison Webster, Bristoll Webster, and Journee Webster.
John was preceded in death by his parents and a brother-in-law, Clifford A. “Bear” Holleran.
Funeral service will be 1:00 pm Friday, January 16, 2026, at D.O. McComb and Sons Covington Knolls Funeral Home, 8325 Covington Road, Fort Wayne, IN 46804, with visitation two hours prior. Committal and burial at Highland Park Cemetery.
