Johnnie R. Norton was born July 22, 1956 in Fort Wayne, IN to Marjorie Swift. Johnnie passed away on May 15, 2017. Johnnie was married for 37 years to Brian L. (Tony) Norton Sr. They lived in the Fort Wayne, IN area for 25 years and then moved to Nashville, TN and were there for 12 years. They have 5 children: Duane (Sarah) Shipley, David Lee, Brian Elam Norton, Daniel Shipley, and Tiffany Norton; 16 grandchildren; and 2 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her mother, Marjorie Swift and her son, David Lee. Johnnie and Tony have been raising 2 of the grandchildren for 11 years. Johnnie has been a preschool teacher for 45 years of her life. Johnnie had survived brain and colon cancer in 2015.
Her Memorial Service will be on Thursday, May 18, 2017 at 1:00 pm at Advantage Funeral Home (2403 E Wallen Rd, Fort Wayne, IN 46825) with visitation one hour prior. Johnnie will be laid to rest at Greenlawn Memorial Park in Fort Wayne, IN.
