Joshua J. Gentry

JOSH J. GENTRY, 34, passed away peacefully on Friday, July 6, 2018, at his residence surrounded by family. Born on Sept. 30, 1983 in Kokomo, Ind., he was a son of John and Susan (Crippes) Gentry, who survive. Josh graduated from Homestead High School. He then continued his education as a member of the Kappa Sigma Fraternity and obtained a bachelor's degree at Indiana University as well as a master’s degree from Ball State University. On Sept. 1, 2007, he married Erin Badenhop. Josh worked as a systems engineer with Cisco Systems for nine years. He was a member of St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Catholic Church. He loved being a father and playing with his children. Josh also enjoyed fishing and hunting. He was an avid sports fan of I.U., Indianapolis Colts and the St. Louis Cardinals. He also enjoyed doing IT projects around the house. Also surviving are his spouse; daughter, Adalyn Gentry; son, Jackson Gentry; four sisters, Stephanie (Jon) Stevens of Columbus, Ohio; Katelyn (Jordan) Gentry of Los Angeles, Calif., Alyssa Gentry of Columbus, Ohio, Madison Gentry of Fort Wayne. Joshua was preceded in death by his brother, Zachary Gentry. Mass of Christian Burial is 11 a.m. Wednesday, July 11, 2018, at St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Catholic Church, 10700 Aboite Center Rd., Fort Wayne (IN 46804) with calling one hour prior from 10 to 11 a.m. Father Dave Voors officiating. Calling also from 2 to 5 and 7 to 9 p.m. Tuesday, July 10, 2018, at D.O. McComb & Sons Pine Valley Park Funeral Home, 1320 East Dupont Road, Fort Wayne, Ind. Burial in Greenlawn Memorial Park, Fort Wayne, Ind. A memorial service in St. Louis will be held at a later date. In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to Team Gleason or St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Catholic Church.
