I had business dealings with Karla in Jacksonville, FL, when she worked for a battered women's shelter and later for the Morocco Shrine Auditorium.
We frequently spoke on a personal level and personally enjoyed each other, although we never met as friends away from work-related activities.
I have not spoken with her in several years, and just now decided to look her up.  I am crushed that the world lost such a good person so young, and that I just missed her, relative to when we last spoke.  Rest in peace, great woman.

So sorry to here of Karla's passing. I loved my cous, and shared a lot of great times growing up and going to school together. I will really miss here. Pat Karst

Oh wow! I am so saddened by this news. My prayers to this wonderful, fun and caring family! 
Karla was one of the best to hang out with as a child! I think we tried to see who  Could come up with the craziest things to do without getting into too much trouble.  I loved my summer stays at the big house on Lafountain in Huntington . Oh how I miss those days! I really don’t know how Pat survived ! I still look for the house as I pass thru Huntington, reliving all the fun times we shared. My prayers to all of her family. I know there will be a void but there are so many great memories made.

There are so many memories of my sister Karla, one that stands out  is when in 2006 she flew me to her home in Jacksonville FL to go to Gainesville to attend Tom Petty and the Heartbreakers 30th anniversary concert! For me it was the concert of my life for I am a huge fan, we ended up with unbelievably great seats and the show was phenomenal! She even rented a motel room in Gainesville for us to spend the night, right off highway 441, what a great time we had!  Love you sister, will miss you forever.

So sorry to hear of Karla. Prayers for her and the entire family.  When I think of Karla I just smile, because that is what she did so often and so well. That great big smile. I will never forget it. She was one of the good ones, and will be missed by all. So sorry for your loss. May her soul rest in peace.

This news breaks my heart. What a very sweet tribute you guys did. Karla was definitely a “glass half full” girl. She was a sweetheart and so full of life. I have so many wonderful memories of our young years together and the house on LaFontaine and our teen years and times at the reservoir. I miss those days sooo much. I love each of you very much and my heart hurts for you for your loss of this sweet one!!

  It has been many years since growing up on LaFontaine St.; but as I get older, I do think of those times we all were playing in John St or in the neighborhood yards.

My deepest sympathy and prayers to all of you at this difficult time. My friendship with Karla will always be treasured by me, so many great memories with her through high school and after. No matter how long it had been since we last talked, we could always pick up where we left off. We were each others "sweeties", this started in high school and always referred to each other as that. I will miss her dearly.
