Larry C. McDonald, 79, of Fort Wayne, passed away suddenly at his home on Wednesday, March 2, 2022. He was a warm, kind-hearted, caring man who was admired by all who knew him. Larry was born to George McDonald and Dorothea Racine McDonald in Fort Wayne on July 21, 1942. He loved sports and enjoyed many rounds of golf as a charter member of Sycamore Hills Golf Club. One of Larry’s many talents was as an accomplished pianist. Siblings and friends have great memories of Larry as a positive and supportive role model. Larry graduated from South Side High School and earned a degree in business from Indiana Purdue Fort Wayne Campus. He worked for Phelps Dodge Sales Company Inc. for 37 years, retiring as Vice-President of Sales. In addition, Larry proudly served his country in the Army Reserves. Larry is survived by his brother, Stephen (Lucile); sisters, Janet (David) Eggiman, and Joann McDonald; and brother, John; many nieces and nephews; and his companion, Joan Bradtmueller. He was preceded in death by his wife of 39 years, Juliet Hippensteele McDonald, who passed away on March 16, 2011. A memorial service will be held at 10:00 AM on Saturday March 12, 2022 at Plymouth Congregational Church, 501 W. Berry St., Fort Wayne, IN 46802 with visitation before the service at 9:00AM.
