Mr. McClintock was born Dec. 8, 1936, in Wabash, Indiana, and graduated from Logansport High School. Education remained central to both his personal and professional life. He earned his bachelor’s and master’s degrees and a doctorate in education, all from Ball State University, and worked for 32 years in the public schools, eventually serving as transportation director.
That experience led to his career at Midwest Transit. There he was integral in its expansion into new markets through the opening of new maintenance locations. He retired from Midwest in 2017.
It was as a freshman at what was then Ball State Teachers College that he met Beverley Ann Custance. As with most things in Mr. McClintock’s life, when he found something worth pursuing, he did, and the two were married in 1956. Mr. McClintock was a devoted husband until his death; his wife survives him.
The couple had three children: Scott (Debra) McClintock of Warsaw, Indiana, James McClintock of Fort Wayne, and Laura (Thomas) Consolo, of Cincinnati. Additional survivors include four grandchildren, a niece and nephews. Two brothers preceded him in death.
D.O. McComb & Sons Funeral Homes is handling arrangements. A memorial service will be at the convenience of the family. Mr. McClintock’s cremated remains will be interred at Lindenwood Cemetery, 2324 West Main Street, Fort Wayne, IN 46808.
