Lois Jean Holloway, 81, of Fort Wayne, passed away on Wednesday, April 11, 2018 at Visiting Nurse Home and Hospice. The Pittsburgh native received a Nursing Degree in her hometown from Columbia Hospital. She worked as a Enterostomal Therapist for Lutheran Hospital. Lois was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. She was a member of Avalon Missionary Church.
Surviving are her husband of 59 years, Thomas; daughters, Diane Freygang of Fort Wayne, Deb Orozco and Beth Love of Indianapolis; son, Marc of Fort Wayne; 9 grandchildren; 7 great-grandchildren; and brother, Karl Shingler of Yorktown, Virginia. Lois was preceded in death by her parents, Vinton and Florence Shingler and sister, Dorothy Blashford.
Funeral service is Monday, April 16, 2018 at Avalon Missionary Church (1212 Lower Huntington Road, Fort Wayne, Indiana 46819) at 11:00 am with visitation one hour prior. Visitation will also be at Klaehn, Fahl, and Melton Funeral Home (6424 Winchester Road, Fort Wayne, Indiana 46819) on Sunday, April 15, 2018 from 2:00 pm to 4:00 pm and 6:00 pm to 8:00 pm. Burial will be at Greenlawn Memorial Park.
Memorial contributions may be made to the American Diabetes Association (www.diabetes.org) or Avalon Missionary Church.
