

Mother Loucille Dowdell-Allen, of Fort Wayne, Indiana was 87 years of age when she left this earth peacefully while at home to be with Jesus on Friday, November 22, 2024. She was born in Marion, Alabama, on April 14, 1937, the seventh child to the union of the late Henry and Sina (Ward) Dowdell.
She moved to Fort Wayne, with her family in 1944 at the age of five. At an early age she accepted Christ and became a member of Pilgrim Baptist Church under the leadership of the late Rev. John Dixie. Later in life, she became a faithful member of Cornerstone Worship Center where she was known as Mother Loucille Allen, serving on the Mother's Board and now the Destiny Dome Embassy at Cathedral of Praise Ministries International. She loved the Lord. She also enjoyed traveling, playing pool, dancing, playing cards and all types of music.
“Cille” as she was known to many, leaves to cherish many memories to her daughters, Henry Etta (Willie) Bright-Savage, Linda (Johnnie) Cannady, Ulrica (Wilson) Whaley; a son, Wade (Bertha) Martin; one sister, Angeline Barron; a sister, Brenda Jean Dowdell and a brother, James Edward Dowdell; 22 grandchildren; 33 great-grandchildren, a step-granddaughter, and 25 great-great-grandchildren; sisters-in-law, Geraldine Dowdell, Sarah Tolbert-Dowdell and Shirley Dowdell; along with a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
Loucille was also preceded in death by her husband, Jethro Allen; a son, Clarence Martin; brothers, Thomas, Johnnie George, James David, Henry Jr., Robert J. Sr., Eddie and Ernest Dowdell; sisters, Julia Bell Dowdell and Rosetta Stephens; a sister-in-law, Carrie Dowdell; brothers-in-law, Ezell Stephens and Jesse James Barron.
A Celebration of Life Service is 11:00 a.m. Friday, December 13, 2024 at Destiny Dome Embassy at Cathedral of Praise Ministries International 3501 Harris Road Fort Wayne, IN 46808 with Apostle, Dr. Oscar J. Nelson Dowdell-Underwood, officiating. Visitation one hour prior to services at the church. She will be laid to rest in Covington Memorial Gardens.
