Madeline Leona Thomas

Madeline L. (Ganaway) Thomas was born October 23, 1939 in Fort Wayne, IN to the late Louis A. and Gussie A. Ganaway. She departed this earthly life on Saturday, November 14, 2020. Madeline retired from Fort Wayne State Development Hospital after 36 years of service as a QMA. She was a member of Canaan Baptist Church under the leadership of the late Pastor Mack Magee Sr. Madeline later joined Heaven 2 Earth Baptist Church under the leadership of Pastor Mitchell Griffin where she served faithfully as a nurse until her health failed. Madeline leaves to cherish her memory two sisters, Curtissean Bright and Rosetta Brown, both of Ft. Wayne, IN and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. Also, one god- daughter, Madelyn James, and a god-son/nephew, Steven Howton. Two special caregivers, Kerry Wilder and Realla Nabors, will always hold a special place in our family’s heart. We truly appreciate everything you did for Madeline. Madeline was preceded in death by her parents, two brothers, Louis Ganaway Jr. and William Ganaway Sr., one sister Mary L. Williams, two brothers-in-law, Willie C. Bright and Harry Williams Sr. and one sister-in- law, Connie Ganaway of West Virginia. Funeral service will be 1:00 pm, November 21, 2020, at Old Landmark Church of God in Christ, 6303 South Anthony Blvd., Fort Wayne, with calling one hour prior, until time of service. Entombment will be in Highland Park Cemetery, Fort Wayne. Memorial donations may be given to Heaven 2 Earth Baptist Church, Fort Wayne. Arrangements have been entrusted to D.O. McComb and Sons Funeral Home, 1140 Lake Ave., Fort Wayne.
