Marian Susan Briggs

Marian Susan Briggs passed peacefully on April 20, 2026, surrounded by her family, at the age of 79. She was born on November 10, 1946, in Detroit, MI, to the late John and Lois (nee.' Thorson) Culp.

Graduate of New Haven High School Class of 1964. Attended Miami University, Oxford, Ohio and was a graduate of Lake City Community College of Nursing in Lake City, Florida.

Susan, as many knew her, loved the ocean, sailing, reading, horses, crocheting, traveling and most of all spending time with her grandson Caleb. She had a blackbelt in Karate and was fond of her many pets.

She worked as a Cardiac Nurse for 40 years and retired in 2020.

She leaves many precious memories to her daughters,Jennifer Alkema, Carolyn Briggs and Holly Briggs Williams; her son, Mikel Briggs; 7 grandchildren, one great-granddaughter; brothers, William (Pat) Culp, Larry (Marina) Culp; and her sister, Lynda Horton.

She will be missed by all who knew and loved her.

Her Celebration of Life Service will be webcast from the First Baptist Church of South Whitley's Facebook page at 2:00 PM on Saturday, April 25, 2026.
