

MARLENE SUZAN (BLOOM) RUTZ, 79, of Fort Wayne, passed away into the Lord's arms on Saturday, June 6, 2015 at her home with her family by her side. Born on Jan. 20, 1936 in Fort Wayne, she was the daughter of the late Alton and Verna (Vance) Bloom. Marlene graduated from South Side High School, Class of 1954, and attended I.U. where she earned a Bachelor Degree in Education, Magna Cum Laude. She was a Kindergarten Teacher at Irwin and Indian Village Schools and a wonderful homemaker for her three daughters. She was also a Charter Member at Good Shepherd United Methodist Church for over 50 years. Surviving are her loving husband of 58.7 years, LeRoy Rutz of Fort Wayne; daughters, Suzan (Shawn) Neff, Sheri (Steve) Winfree, and Kimberly (Rutz) Trocchio, all of Fort Wayne; eight grandchildren, Jessica Ford, Dustin Winfree, Nathan Trocchio, Matthew Neff, Kailee Winfree, Zachary Trocchio, Ryan Neff, and Bree Winfree, all of Fort Wayne; one great-granddaughter, Kristina Ford; and brother, A. Dale Bloom of Fort Wayne. Funeral Service is 1 p.m. Thursday, June 11, 2015 at Good Shepherd United Methodist Church, 4700 Vance Ave., Fort Wayne, with calling two hours prior. Burial at Greenlawn Memorial Park, Fort Wayne. Memorials may be made to Cancer Services of NE Indiana, 6316 Mutual Dr., Fort Wayne.
