

Marsha Diane (Hire) Coak, age 77, a cherished woman of faith, known for her kind, loving, caring and joyful personality, was called home to be with Jesus, Wednesday, September 4, 2024, at Parkview Regional Medical Center, with her family. She was born April 16, 1947, in Wolf Lake, Indiana, to Warren G. and Dorothy M. (Angel) Hire. She graduated from Millersburg High School in 1965. Marsha married her loving husband, Ronald Lee Coak, on November 5, 1966, in New Haven, Indiana.
Marsha was a devoted follower of Christ and a shining example of the great commission to love one another as Christ loved us. She was a member of First Assembly of God, Fort Wayne, and loved singing in the church choir.
Marsha attended Ravenscroft Cosmetology School in Fort Wayne and practiced doing hair for many years, including Salon de Coiffures and the Magic Mirror. Marsha later worked in sales at Petite Sophisticates, and was a mail clerk at ONE, before she retired.
Marsha was a vibrant soul. She always had a smile on her face and was known for her joyful laughter. She enjoyed hosting family dinners and attending family reunions, as well as taking joy rides, listening to Gaither Gospel Music, and looking at the flowers and birds in her garden. She was a friend to many and a stranger to none.
Marsha is survived by her daughters, Michelle King and Annemarie (Justin Erdly) Coak, both of Fort Wayne; her granddaughter, Nia (Bailey Berelsman) Kringas, of Huntertown, Indiana; her mother, Dorothy (Angel) Hire, of Ligonier, Indiana; her brother, Quentin Hire of Syracuse, Indiana; her sisters, Marie Dillon, of Shipshewana, Indiana; Melanie Epert of Wawaka, Indiana, Lori (Kurt) Dressler of Kendallville, Indiana; and Angie (Paul) Bickel, of New Paris, Indiana; her sisters-in-law, Phyllis DeLucenay, of New Haven, Indiana; Linda Hire of New Paris, Indiana; Jeannine Hire, of Three Rivers, Michigan; her adopted sister, Jackie Detwiler of Fort Wayne, Indiana; her adopted brother, Rich Czykoski, of Auburn, Indiana; her many nieces and nephews that lovingly called her, “Pretty Aunt Marsha.”
Waiting for her at Heaven’s Gate are her husband, Ronald Lee Coak; her father, Warren G. Hire; her brothers, Thomas Hire, Stephen Hire, Jon Hire, and Scott Hire; and her son-in-law, Randy King.
Serving as active Pallbearers will be, Josh Epert, Tony Ramsey, Cody Ramsey, Bailey Berelsman, Matt Sweger, Chuck Hochstetler, Megan Epert, Keith DeLucenay, and Scott DeLucenay.
The family would like to extend their gratitude to the doctors, nurses, and care staff at the Fresenius Kidney Care for the personal care and kindness they showed Marsha during her dialysis journey.
A visitation will be held at D.O. McComb and Sons - Pine Valley, 1320 E. Dupont Rd., Ft. Wayne, IN 46825 on Monday, September 9, 2024, from 4:00 PM to 6:00 PM. Visitation will also be from 11:00 AM to 1:00 PM on Tuesday, September 10, 2024, at Richville Community Church, 11009 Co Rd. 50 Ligonier, IN 46767. A funeral service will be at 1:00 PM at the church. Burial will be at Hire Cemetery immediately following the service. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the family to go towards purchasing a headstone for Marsha.
