Martha Lou Scudder

Martha Lou (Prine) Scudder, aged 70, passed away on Wednesday, March 5, 2025. Born on September 29, 1954, in Fort Wayne, Indiana, to parents James and Eunice (Gamble) Prine, Martha was beloved by so many. Growing up, Martha attended both Portage and Elmhurst Schools in Fort Wayne. Martha would marry the love of her life, Jerry M. Scudder, on June 19, 1981, and would spend 43 years deeply committed to their bond. Their love would blossom into a family whose legacy will keep Martha’s memory close to their heart. Martha loved traveling and seeing what the world had to offer. The stories from her trips, often filled with laughter and unforgettable moments, were a highlight to those who knew her. Martha could also be found enjoying her time gambling. An enthusiastic and competitive spirit, anybody who played with her was bound to have a fun time. At home, Martha found comfort in the simple joys of life, watching her favorite TV shows. Martha is survived by her husband, Jerry M. Scudder; children, Jerry M. Scudder Jr., Stacy L. Milligan-Wendel, Joseph Allan Scudder; eight grandchildren and 3 great-grandchildren. Martha is preceded in death by her children, Mendy Lou Harmon, John C. Scudder, and James Ray Milligan. A funeral service for Martha will be held on Wednesday, March 12, 2025 at 12PM at C.M. Sloan & Sons Funeral Home, 1327 North Wells Street, Fort Wayne, Indiana, 46808, with visitation one hour prior.
