The funeral was no fuss but very poignant. She would have loved it. The flowers were beautiful. You are a beautiful spirit. As the pastor said, you will be doing God's work.

An Irish Funeral Prayer

Death is nothing at all.? It does not count.?  I have only slipped away into the next room.?  Everything remains as it was.?  The old life that we lived so fondly together is untouched, unchanged.?  Whatever we were to each other, that we are still.?  Call me by the old familiar name.?  Speak of me in the easy way which you always used.?  Put no sorrow in your tone.  ?Laugh as we always laughed at the little jokes that we enjoyed together.?  Play, smile, think of me, pray for me.  ?Let my name be ever the household word that it always was.?   Let it be spoken without  effort?.  Life means all that it ever meant.  It is the same as it ever was.?  There is unbroken continuity.?  Why should I be out of mind because I am out of sight?   ?I am but waiting for you, for an interval, somewhere very near, just around the corner.?   All is well. Nothing is hurt; nothing is lost.?  One brief moment and all will be as it was before.   ?How we shall laugh at the trouble of parting,  when we meet again.

Grandma Mary - You were always so interested in everything and so open-minded!  I will always cherish all the conversations we had about everything from the environment to aliens.  You were always so thoughtful calling to check on me whenever you heard of a hurricane anywhere.  I have so many wonderful memories in my heart.  Thank you for that.  I am so thankful that Earl was always there for you, and took good care of you.  He is a blessing to our family!  God be with all the family at this difficult time.

Rest in peace grandma. I won't forget the night we were up until 3am playing cards and eating coney dogs with Minerva and my dad. Bless your kind soul.

Mary always had a little story that made Bob and I laugh. She, Minerva and Earl were a delightful three some that added great joy to our lives. We have many wonderful memories.

I'll always remember your kindness to me and my children.  You were my step-mother, but always felt like my Mother.  Rest in peace.I'll always remember the time you were visiting Ervin at Parkview Hospital and you and your sister "lost" your car in the parking garage.  It took a lot of searching, didn't it? Although we drifted in and out of touch, my kids and I will never forget playing euchre with you and Aunt "Minervie", laughing and talking, and sharing amazing stories.  We will miss you, Grandma Mary.
